Used Equipment
Used Equipment
There is a national market for used equipment and we have access to used dust collectors, fans, and some equipment, based on market availability. I am happy to look at your applications, situations, and specific problems and offer solutions using both new and used equipment (if available and safe).
Sometimes used equipment is not a viable option when NFPA concerns are present, as we cannot guaranty the Pred values of equipment that has been in service for many years under unknown conditions. When structural integrity is required to be identified and noted for NFPA compliance, retrofitting used equipment can be problematic and should probably be avoided. Even retrofitting the equipment that you already own, when you know the history of the equipment, can be problematic for the same reasons. When NFPA (fire and explosion mitigation) are required, I will recommend new equipment that can be manufactured with the proper compliance equipment and/or co-flanges at the factory level so the Pred values can be identified on the production drawings.
Keep in mind that it is your plant, your equipment, and your money, and I am not your AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction), so I will not presume to make those choices for you. I will, however, offer my professional opinions, and quote what you have requested and rely on you to contact your AHJ and make your own decisions based on your own needs.
If you would like me to look into the availability of used equipment for your specific application, then please call me directly using my cell number to discuss the issues. I may want to come out and look at the application, process and environmental conditions before suggesting a specific piece of used equipment.
Thank you ~ Kevin Saenz
